ASD is seeking a Logistician, Journeyman in support of the IBD-SS program’s CONUS Huntsville, AL. The Logistician, Journeyman will support the customer’s logistics requirements through the analysis, organization, planning, and administration of various phases of day-to-day provisioning, spares, maintenance, and/or repair activities.

Primary Duties:
  • Perform data entry, research, and documentation of receiving issues in COLTS, or other government, program, or company database
  • Knowledge of the PM FPS family of systems (BETSS-C, IBD-K, ECP, RDISS, JCAD, NIIS) hardware and components
  • Performs logistic program activities from conceptual stage through life cycle of product
  • Knowledgeable of operating 4SIGHT (Procurement, Assets, and Transportation)
  • Basic knowledge of procurement processes
  • Develops and implements logistics program activities including ILS, technical documentation, RAM, provisioning, etc.; coordinates efforts of subcontractors and field service personnel; resolves logistics problems; and compiles data on standardization and interchangeability of parts to expedite logistic activities
  • Maintain inventory control processes to account for property received, shipped, excess, moved, or in transit
  • Provide material handling support to include shipping, receiving, storage, and disposition of property
  • Inspect inbound inventory for accuracy and completeness, defects or notable damage and log/report discrepancies
  • Use a pallet jack or forklift when loading or unloading pallets
  • Generate documentation and completing required forms for shipping to include Performa, ITAR, and other shipping documents and labels such as those required for hazardous materials
  • Interact with vendors, OEMs, FSRs and other customers to obtain information, reconcile inventory discrepancies, prepare RMAs, and obtain EDD/ECD dates
  • Maintain of the Authorized Stockage Listing (ASL) and perform required inventories/audits.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, bins, or containers according to predetermined sequence
  • Must have the ability to generate/produce data and reports
  • Interact and professionally exhibit customer service skills and be able to present a positive approach with customers and peers
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to communicate with team members professionally
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and be able to work in a non-climate-controlled environment

Desired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with DOD logistics practices for turn in to DLA DS and all required forms.
  • Relevant and recent experience supporting Force Protection systems
  • Hazardous Material and/or Hazardous Waste Handling certificate strongly desired
  • Import/Export (ITAR/EXIM) compliance experience
  • Experience with military transportation & logistics, MILAIR, USTRANSCOM, etc.
  • Familiarity with DOD logistics practices and forms, such as DD250, DD1348, DD1149, etc.
  • Experience in a rapid paced, time sensitive, high-quality environment
  • Expert written and verbal communication skills along with expert customer service
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize commitments, and manage time effectively including attention to detail

Education Required:
  • BA/BS with 5-8 years of experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of the degree. (12 total years of applicable experience in lieu of a degree.)
  • Security Clearance:
  • Security Clearance not needed but will accept candidates with a Secret clearance
  • AMMO 62 Certification is desired

  • What is the mission of the program/contract? The IBD-SS effort calls to sustain a technology environment with radars, cameras, night-vision sensors, infrared gravity sensors, metal detectors x-ray systems. GD Global Force is also responsible for any repairs, changes and upgrades to the systems.
  • What will a typical workday look like for the Contract Labor Associate (CLA)? Is this a team setting? Arrive at 0700, check with area lead to see tasks for the day (this could be working with ASL team, Transportation team, or the DLA-DS team), perform whatever tasks are required, 30-minute lunch period to be taken between 1100 and 1200, continue tasks as required, depart at 1530
  • What are the top three skillsets the candidate should have? Attention to detail, previous warehouse experience (understands what is required to track equipment and previous experience operating Mobile Handling Equipment), previous property management, disposition of govt. equipment.
  • What is the interview process (phone then in-person or only phone, etc.)? Interview will be via phone (Teams)
  • What government agency/customer does the contract support? Customer is the US Army.
  • What is the length of the contract? What Option Year is it currently in? When is re-compete? IBD-SS length of contract – One base, four option years. Current Contract Year – OY2, 5 February 2022 – 4 February 2023, OY3-5 February 2023 – 4 February 2024, OY4 February 2024 – 4 February 2025. We expect the re-compete to drop during the fourth option year. This assignment will end on 4 February 2023.
