The employee in this position provides sole support to a full range of IT services to the Huntsville, and other Northern Alabama areas, for classified and unclassified environments. This position requires the employee to be a "jack of all trades" with experience across multiple IT disciplines, such as: desktop support, networking, telephony, servers, etc.

OVERALL REQUIREMENTS:

  • U.S. Citizen.
  • Submit/Pass a 10-year Dept. of Defense background check, criminal history, drug screening, and fingerprints.
  • Valid driver's license/Real-ID with clean driver's history.
  • Self-starter with extremely strong work ethic. Excellent time-management and multitasking skills.

  • Must have excellent front-facing / face-to-face customer service skills.

  • Position may require ability to sit, stand, walk extended distances, bend, stoop, squat and lift to 35 lbs. from the floor to desktop for extended periods of time.
  • Experience with a ticketing system like ServiceNow a plus.

JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS:

  • 10+ years' experience in the IT industry supporting both classified and unclassified enterprise environments.
  • Active DOD Secret-level clearance required at time of hire. Preferable to have or ability to obtain a Top-Secret security clearance with completed SCI/CI Poly.
  • Completed IAT Level-2 Technical Certification (CompTIA Security+ or equivalent), required
  • Bachelor's degree with IT coursework recommended.
  • Familiarity with security requirements (ICD 503, DFARS, etc.).
  • Experience installing/supporting/troubleshooting Windows OS (Win10/Server 2016) and RHEL
  • Experience with patching and deploying software products and updates.
  • Familiarity with managing and maintaining Microsoft Active Directory Domain Services.
  • Experience with system imaging process (update, configure, build, and maintain systems).
  • Experience with Multifactor Authentication and PKI.
  • Experience performing DoD STIG updates.
  • Experience with enterprise backup software administration and disaster recovery.
  • Administration and troubleshooting of Citrix Infrastructure.
  • Hardware support experience (replacing drives, system boards, etc.) - experience with HP systems preferred.
  • Experience with maintaining/troubleshooting VoIP devices (i.e., Cisco Unified Call Manager/Unity).
  • Experience with inventory management.
Experience with ServiceNow (or equivalent ticketing system) and have an understanding of service delivery.

RESPONSIBILTIES AND DUTIES:

General IT Support:

  • Must follow security protocols and adhere to all SCIF policies/standards as needed.
  • Provide maintenance of computing devices, associated peripherals, and approved software.
  • Support VoIP devices (Cisco) including creating/modifying device profiles in Cisco Unified Call Manager.
  • Support iOS based mobile devices using Workspace ONE device management.
  • Manage print functionality (local printers as well as "smart hands" support for Xerox multifunction devices.
  • Install/Move/Add/Change functions.
  • Provide appropriate office support to coordinate and schedule new equipment installations.
  • Monitor and update ticketing system (ServiceNow) to ensure that all Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are met.
  • Perform periodic physical audits of end user computing devices to compare with asset DB records (deployment location, storage location, and assignee information).
  • Provide "smart hands" support for remote infrastructure teams (server/network groups).
  • Provide AV setup and meeting support as needed.
Information Security / Cybersecurity

  • System Administrator has a major role in the equipment upgrade (software/hardware) and monitoring responsibilities for the entire Huntsville classified lab. The employee will be required to maintain the essentials such as operating systems updates, business applications updates, security updates, servers, computer configuration based on DISA STIGS, and must address any network issues immediately. Must keep the lab security and regulatory compliant IAW the Defense Counterintelligence Security Agency and MDA requirements.
  • In the system administrator role, the employee would be responsible for conducting Systems Security activities throughout the RMF Authorization process and life cycle. Ensuring the highest quality of Cybersecurity/Information Assurance (IA) compliance.
  • The Sys Admin closely collaborates with the Huntsville FSO, ISSO/ISSM, program managers and customer's IT counterparts to ensure cybersecurity controls are effectively implemented. This will consist mainly of conducting the weekly System audit log review if needed, Lab system configuration, 800-53 technical control validation and testing with Huntsville ISSM, and password lockout maintenance.
  • Protect and safeguard all information.
  • Protect all media used and generated on the system by properly classifying, labeling, controlling, transmitting and destroying it in accordance with security requirements.
  • Report all security incidents or suspected incidents to the ISSM and FSO. This includes any indication of intrusion, unexplained degradation or interruption of services, or the actual or possible compromise of data or file access controls.
  • Discontinue use of any system resources that show signs of being infected by a virus or other malware and report the suspected incident.
  • Coordinate user access requirements, and implement user access parameters, with the ISSM.
Lab support:

Domain Controllers:

  • Maintain Windows Server 2016 on primary and backup domain controllers. - as needed.
  • Install and maintain Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) server for monthly patches updates.
  • Install and maintain McAfee Endpoint antivirus server for patch updates on clients.
  • Maintain user accounts. - As needed.
  • Regularly scan for RMF controls and remediate findings.
  • Install and maintain audit log maintenance software. Analyze audit logs.
  • Install and maintain Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) software used by audit log analysis software.
  • Install and maintain SQL server database program.
  • Install and maintain server based Yubikey two-factor authentication software.
  • Run regular backups of servers.
