JIRA Administrator to join our team in

Huntsville, AL. To perform this job successfully, an individual must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities listed; meet the education and work experience required, and must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily. Other duties, in addition to the below, may be assigned as necessary to meet business needs.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Build and deploy JIRA projects and Confluence spaces in a Service Management Data Center platform for multiple teams
  • Install and manage plugins to extend JIRA or Confluence capabilities while ensuring compatibility with Data Center configuration and mitigating risk to instances.
  • Using available tools create automation for projects and interfaces. This position only interacts with the Atlassian APIs on a read only basis.
  • As part of customizing JIRA projects for customers skills include:
    • Design, build, and deploy dashboards for JIRA. Display JIRA data on Confluence spaces. Link confluence and Jira projects.
    • Create custom fields and issue types.
    • Test newly created enhancements for functionality and client requirements
    • Experience in creating reports and dashboards to document configuration management changes.
    • Experience using specialized add-ons that are now incorporated into Jira Instance, e.g. Insight and Advance Roadmaps.
Monitoring health of the JIRA platform includes:
  • Identify JIRA or Confluence related defects and future enhancements.
  • Utilize administrative tools and optimize performance thru best Atlassian Practices and Client Department standards.
  • Managing updates to installed tools according to the Client Department protocol.
Additional expected characteristics of applicant:
  • Ability to take on customization project ownership for diverse teams and satisfy requirements up to completion.
  • Understanding of information Assurance (IA) systems and practices, such as DISA STIGs, RMF, and system hardening.
  • Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
  • Accommodate scheduled recurring tasks required to perform duties and/or maintain instances for client - some duties are scheduled after 5 PM or on a weekend.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
  • Due to customer related requirements, US Citizenship is required.
  • BS degree and 5 years of relevant experience required.
  • DoD 8570 certification (CCNA- Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security + CE, SSCP)

    as applied to this role.
  • Active SECRET Clearance is required and the ability to maintain such clearance.
  • Ability to work with little or no direct supervision and in a team environment.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong customer service/client facing skills.
  • Composition skills to update client documentation such as standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Strong requirement gathering skills.
  • Ability to track a extreme details at multiple levels for reporting to client at multiple managerial levels.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
