Description SAIC is seeking an

IT Systems Administrator to support the Force Protection team in Huntsville, Alabama that integrates computer systems and networks with sensors and other devices, monitoring and control software applications to create systems that protect military personnel, resources and facilities from potential threats. The ideal candidate will have capabilities including:

Knowledge of and experience with virtual computing, containers, Linux system administration
Ability to work with limited supervision and general instructions given for new work assignments
Ability to communicate frequently with other departments and occasionally with external organizations (vendors, suppliers)
Maintain, update, and configure computer operating systems and application software on product reference systems used for system integration, test, cybersecurity audits, software delivery, and field support.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience: Bachelors degree in a related discipline and two (2) years of related experience required; four (4) years' experience is accepted in lieu of a degree.

Required Clearance: Ability to acquire an Interim Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Required Skills:

Configuring and maintaining virtual computing systems (e.g., virtual computers, VMWare ESXI, containers)
Linux system administration
Install operating system patches/updates and software application patches/updates
Configure operating systems, software applications, and network equipment

Desired Skills:

System back/restore using disk-imaging software applications
Use and update standard operating procedures and schedules
Assist network analysts and hardware engineers integrating new/updated system components
