Our client, an insurance company, is seeking a Power BI Administrator/Developer

Location: Jacksonville, FL / Alpharetta, GA / Birmingham, AL

Position Type: Contract

Job Summary:

Seeking a Power BI Administrator/Developer for our office in downtown Chicago, IL or Jacksonville, FL or Dallas, TX or St. Louis, MO or Birmingham, AL

Position Responsibilities:

  • Establish a framework for Power BI governance, and operational processes
  • Establish the best practices on Power BI workspaces, visuals, apps, security, and auditing
  • Day to day administration activities - user onboarding and access control, manage Power BI tenant features, maintain activity logs and monitor usages
  • Publish reports via the Power BI service, managing them through distribution of apps and monitoring usage/data refreshes/security access
  • Analyze and recommend proper memory and workload configuration within the Power BI service
  • Consult with BI leaders on best practices as it relates to Power BI service administration
  • Helps in developing and socializing global Power Platform standards and practices
  • Troubleshoot issues within Power BI services as needed
  • Provides technical guidance to Power BI Developers and Analysts
  • Work effectively with cross-functional teams and vendors

Position Qualifications:

  • Should have 5+ years of experience in using Business Intelligence tools
  • Should have 3+ years of experience in administering Power BI tool
  • Should have 1+ years of experience on Cloud based platform
  • Good understanding of the end-to-end Power BI suite of tools, i.e., Power BI desktop, Power BI Report Server, Power Services etc.
  • Experience with implementation of various Power BI architectures, i.e., Import, Direct Query, Live Connections, and Composite Models
  • Experience with database management, SQL querying, data modeling and data warehousing are preferred
  • Demonstrated problem solving and quantitative skills
  • Should have excellent written and verbal communication skills and able to work with multiple vendors
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent
