Our innovative products and solutions contribute to conserving resources, advancing global food science, and improving quality of life.Combining economic success, social responsibility, and environmental safety, we empower our customers across industries to meet the current and future needs of society.Program SummaryThis paid co-operative education position will involve working in the analytical laboratories assisting technicians, chemists, and staff in various responsibilities. In this role, a student actively pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, the natural sciences, or any related field of study will alternate semesters of work and undergraduate study, such that the student will work at the BASF McIntosh site during spring 2021, fall 2021 and summer 2022 semesters. The student will be responsible for securing housing arrangements for the duration of each semester of work at BASF. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Promote safety and a safe working environment in the Lab.

Assist the Analytical and Quality Control Staff with routine sampling activities.

Perform routine analytical testing of plant production and environmental samples.

Review and provide timely reporting of analytical data.

Assist with maintaining instrumentation as required by instrument manufacturers and procedures.

Prepare standards, reagents and working solutions as specified in analytical methods.

Min. 2.5 GPA

College undergraduates with at least one semester completed prior to beginning the co-op

Targeted majors: chemistry, biochemistry, biology, environmental science, natural sciences, and similar majors; however, other majors (i.e., general studies, undecided, etc.) will be considered if the student has completed general chemistry and is interested in lab work

Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Outstanding work ethic
