Account Manager to complement our team in Montgomery, AL.

NIC Alabama located in Montgomery, serves state and local agencies, by partnering with them to provide new, innovative, online government services. As a member of the NIC Alabama team, you will work as a team to drive application and adoption of emerging technologies to create effective and citizen-centric, digital government solutions.

As an Account Manager, you will develop long-term relationships with your portfolio of assigned state agency partners. Responsibilities include supporting existing projects, developing leads for new projects, gathering functional requirements, writing the scope of work documentation, and working with a small team of dedicated software engineers to ensure on-time delivery of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Function as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert for your specific state partners.
  • Build and maintain strong partner relationships.
  • Understand the partner's business processes, document those processes as they relate to our online applications and recommend potential business process improvements where necessary.
  • Establish project milestones based on the functional requirements, the scope of work, and development resource bandwidth.
  • Ensure the timely and successful delivery of projects.
  • Communicate clearly with partners and internal stakeholders.
  • Forecast and track key account metrics.
  • Identify and grow opportunities and collaborate with team members to ensure growth.
  • Complete functional testing of applications and features along with internal and external stakeholders to ensure all requirements are met.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline preferred and/or relevant work experience.
  • Work Experience: 2+ years of technical project management experience or in a related area.
  • Required Skills:
    • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, understand partner needs, organize multiple projects and tasks, and efficiently meet deadlines.
    • Experience delivering and managing web-based applications.
    • Strong analytical skills, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into clear functional requirements that can be understood by both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
    • Excellent listening, negotiation, and presentation skills.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to interact professionally with partners and colleagues.
    • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.
