SUMMARY
The Aircraft Prepper works under minimal supervision to safely prepare, strip, prep, wash, mask aircraft according to schedule using company quality standards and operating procedures.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Performs aircraft preparation, painting, and detailing of aircraft under minimal supervision.
Apply stripper, sanding, prep for paint and other detail work.
Set up and operate typical shop equipment as orbital sanders, dye grinders, and other general shop equipment and tools to complete work assignments.
Properly cares for and maintains shop equipment and tools.
Follow standard operating procedures when using sealants, paint strippers, and corrosion-preventive chemicals.
Uses protective equipment and follows safety rules as required in compliance with OSHA.
Assist with aircraft movement in/out of hangars.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
Able to use tools and equipment associated with the aircraft prepping process.
Kneel, bend, squat, reach, climb ladders and lean several hours throughout the day while prepping aircraft.
Lift materials weighing up to 50 lbs
Comply with drug testing requirements in compliance with federal regulations.
Pass annual respirator fit test, in order to use safety equipment
QUALIFICATIONS
Must have at least 3-5 years of painting experience in aerospace or automotive.
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
