Asset Protection Officer-RetailGrade Level: 3Basic Job Function: To protect our most important assets: People, Property, and Product. To focus on safety and loss prevention in our Retail Facilities. Administers all security programs to minimize losses and protect company assets for retail. Monitors and Records theft occurrences. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in security and asset protection. Preferred Candidate Will Possess:
Retail operations experience
Security and loss prevention knowledge
Ability to work with little supervision
Ability to keep information confidential
Professional image in appearance, words and actions
Ability to handle difficult situations with diplomacy
Ability to perceive situations accurately
Ability to maintain fair, consistent set of standards, using judgment
Analysis skills and computer literacy
Effective oral and written communication skills
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide a welcoming and safe shopping experience for guests by maintaining security and general store safety
Create and implement Standard Operating Procedures
Provide shrink prevention training to store managers and retail team members
Perform store safety, security and loss prevention audits
Monitor store compliance regarding asset protection and report gaps to the President of the Company
Responsible for security procedures being carried thru
Must become familiar with closed circuit monitoring system
Communicate with outside vendors who deal with security equipment
Do minor repair and maintenance on security cameras
Investigate store inventory and cash losses
Communicate with local law enforcement when necessary
Represent Company in court proceedings related to apprehensions
Work closely with managers on internal theft
Work closely with managers on as need basis with team member exits
Demonstrate knowledge of company policies and procedures
Take daily store deposits to bank
Collect and deliver cash register start-ups when needed
Responsible for preparing & conducting periodic safety training
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Ability to work on computer for extended periods of time
Ability to do moderate lifting
Educational Requirements:
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Computer and typing skills necessary
Preferred 1-2 years? experience in this field or related area
Schedule Requirements:
Full time; 36-40 hour work week
Varied schedule with Saturday?s required
Holiday?s required (excluding Thanksgiving and Christmas)
Wednesday before Thanksgiving
?Black Friday? (day after Thanksgiving) & the Saturday after Thanksgiving are required
Annual Ski Event (1st Saturday in November)
Occasionally may require ?after hours? responsibilities /duties
Reporting Relationship:Reports directly to Asset Protection Manager
