Durable Medical Equipment Sleep Educator

We are seeking an experienced Durable Medical Equipment (DME) Sleep Educator to support our busy durable medical practice. This position interfaces with patients, assisting them with all their sleep therapy needs, and helping maintain our equipment resupply program.

Position responsibilities include:

Performs routine mask fittings and patient education regarding PAP therapy

Responsible for patient compliance program including phone calls, data downloads

Set-up patients with PAP equipment and supplies when required

Maintain medical data bases, ensuring complete and accurate medical records and documentation

Dispense equipment including CPAP/APAP and BIPAP machines, as well as all corresponding supplies and accessories

Provide cost quotes and schedule appointments

Supply billing with accurate documentation

Interface with Providers to provide sleep therapy

Successful candidates will possess:

Outstanding patient relations skills

Experience with Respiratory Durable Medical Equipment, specifically CPAP/BiPAP equipment and supplies preferred

Excellent organization and communication abilities

Upbeat, happy and positive personality

Excellent interpersonal skills

Experience with a variety of medical data bases

Familiarity with BrightTree, Care Orchestrator and AirView highly desired

Requirements include:

Strong problem-solving skills

Strong computer/EMR skills

Must be detail oriented and able to multi-task

Exceptional customer service skills

Professional attitude

Must be able to work independently and with other

Knowledge of healthcare operations, HIPAA

Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent.

One-year customer service or patient care experience within the last five years

RPSGT/RRT preferred but not required
