Job Description ATTENTION ALASKA RESIDENTS!

The Department of Labor and Workforce Development, Division of Employment and Training Services, is recruiting for an Accounting Technician II located in Anchorage!

The position is in the General Government Unit (GGU) at a range 14.

What you will be doing :

This is a fulltime position responsible for providing tax information and assistance to employers, responding to inquiries from the public and other divisions, and support to Field Auditors.

The incumbent also assists with investigations for missing wages to be used on Unemployment Insurance benefit claims, employer tax clearances, and marijuana or liquor license transfers.

Researches discrepancies in employer’s accounts, employee wages records, and prepares documents for accounting adjustment and refunds.

The incumbent's work will support the division's mission by performing essential customer service and accounting functions.

One year of entry technical level accounting or bookkeeping experience.

Substitutions :

Certification as an Accounting Technician from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience.

Post secondary education from an accredited college will substitute for the required experience (3 semester / 4 quarter hours equal one month) if it includes at least 6 semester / 8 quarter hours in Accounting.
