Job Duties and Tasks for: Assistant Housekeeping Manager

Inspects and supervises the daily cleaning of assigned guest rooms, bathrooms, hallways, stair wells, and public areas to the company and brand standards.

Investigates complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment, and takes corrective action.

Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs to prepare work assignments.

Performs cleaning duties in cases of emergency or staff shortage.

Examines guest rooms and public areas to determine need for repairs and communicates them with engineering department.

Issues keys, supplies, and equipment to workers using standard log sheets.

Records data regarding work assignments, personnel actions, and time cards, and prepares periodic reports.

Follows supervisor checklists every shift to ensure proper opening and closing.

Immediately reports and documents any observed or known safety hazards, conditions, or

unsafe practices and procedures.

Wears a clean and suitable uniform and name badge at all times and leads by example

The ideal candidate must have a career goal in hospitality with a desire of growing within the company. Strong communication skills, supervisory experience, attention to detail, and overall healthy physical fitness is required.

Skills include the ability to use computer hardware and software including Microsoft Word and Excel. Ability to use e-mail and use internet technology. Working knowledge procedures for cleaning and sanitation, supervision of custodial staff including training. Prioritizing workflow to meet operational needs and staffing. The ability to perform under conditions of fluctuating workload. Physical ability to perform necessary tasks required for cleaning, as this is a very hands-on position. Must be available to work holidays and weekends At least 2 years experience as housekeeping supervisor.
