The North Star Fire Crew is an entry level training crew based out of the Alaska Interior that is designed to provide individuals the necessary training and experience to pursue a career in wildland fire.
Crew members will be exposed to challenging and rewarding work while learning the fundamentals of wildland firefighting.
We are looking for motivated individuals that display a positive attitude, strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
The season runs from May 20th to approximately August 20th. The hourly rate while on fires is $18.64 an hour. There is also free housing and free meals at AFS for North Star crew members
Fire Experience Not Required
