Valley Pediatric Dentistry is seeking a part-time front office/ dental assistant. Our ideal candidate would be someone with at least one year of clerical/ dental experience, a great team player, reliable, multi-tasker, self-managed, someone who is outgoing, thrive for excellence, and great with kids. Our goal is to provide amazing customer service along with great dental care. We are looking for experienced and motivated individuals that like to multitask and keep busy.

Education/Experience Qualifications:
Minimum of high school diploma
Dental knowledge is preferred, not required
Basis HIPPA/OSHA knowledge
Scheduling appointments
Checking patients in/out
Billing Insurance
Computer Literate
Detail Oriented
Flexibility with work schedule
Organized
Motivated and Energetic
Coronal Polishing Certificate preferred, not required
Open Dental knowledge preferred, not required
Job Requirements:
Anticipating and assisting the dentists’ needs during dental treatment
Assisting our dentist with practical support throughout the day
Asking about the patient’s medical history, allergies, or concerns.
Taking height and weight of the patient
Preparing instruments; cleaning treatment areas; sterilizing equipment
Keeping treatment rooms and supplies organized and stocked
Coordinating efficient patient care/flow
Teaching patients’ appropriate oral hygiene instructions
Accurately filing patient information and charting
Effectively communicating with patients, staff, offices to whom we refer, and suppliers
Performing tasks that often require the use of a computer
Utilizing dental practice software (we use Open Dental) during and after patients appointments to chart, post dental services, walk out patients, coordinate with the front office staff to schedule future appointments/ recalls.
Key Dental Assistant Skills/ Ideal Candidate:
High School Diploma/ GED
1+ years experience as a dental assistant preferred
Excellent Customer Service
Ability to multi-task efficiently, take initiative, and anticipate needs of others– you see what needs to be done and do it.
Proficient Computer and typing skills
Working knowledge of OSHA, HIPAA, and other regulations
Familiarity with Open Dental Software
Ability to project a positive, warm, and professional image in person and on the phone
Strong Organizational and Administrative Skills
Reliable and prompt; availability to be flexible with a varying schedule according to clinics needs
Team oriented conveying enthusiasm and thoughtful consideration of others
