The Residential Advisor provides a vital role
in supporting individuals who experience disabilities. Residential
Advisors perform tasks necessary to ensure a safe, secure, clean and supportive
living environment for clients and a safe working environment for staff. This
position is an integral part of the group home management team and requires
supervising the operation of the group home. This position requires a unique
blend of people skills and willingness to undertake and follow the Bright
Horizon Homes Policies and Procedures for group homes of disabled adults. Residential Advisors are mainly responsible for the daily care of clients
assigned to that group home This position
involves supporting and assisting individuals who experience various
disabilities with daily living skills and community inclusions activities. Residential Advisors provides service to clients so that they have the opportunity to live a full life and achieve theirgoals.
Responsibilities include but are
not limited to assisting and monitoring daily living skills in the group home
and providing direct personal care. Residential Advisor work 3 or 4 days out of a week. 2 on 2 off 3 on 3 off 2 on 2 off For Example of a two week schedule: Employee Work Saturday, Sunday, Monday; Off Tuesday and Wednesday; Work Thursday and Friday, Off Saturday, Sunday and Monday; Work Tuesday and Wednesday, Off Thursday and Friday. Then start over working Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
Minimum Age: 25
Education: Attained High School Diploma or higher
Credentials / licenses / certifications: CNA certificate preferred
Months of experience: Minimum of 6 months experience required
Driver's license: D-Private Vehicle class
Driver's license endorsements: None
Additional skills required: First Aid/CPR, able to write complete sentences for documentation of services rendered and knowledge of Therap is highly recommended
Pre-hire screening or test performed: Background Checks, Reference Checks, Other (specify)
Description of screening / test performed: Must have reliable transportation (car, SUV, or Truck). Proof of current Car Insurance; Negative TB test within the last year ; and Current First Aid/CPR certificate. Must be able to pass back ground test. Employee must be able to pass drug testing/screening if deemed necessary.
