Position available for a professional administrative assistant. We are seeking a bright, detail- oriented individual to work as a Utility Locate Dispatcher. Proficiency in Windows based applications and MS Outlook is required. Knowledge of general office machinery is a plus. Must be organized, punctual, and dependable.
The Utility Locate Dispatcher works closely with the foreman and crew. The ability to work in a team environment, with many personality types is vital. Must be able to work with minimal supervision, provide excellent customer service, communicate well on the telephone and via email, and keep pace in a busy work environment.
Specific tasks in the Dispatcher’s job description include, but are not limited to:
Pre-sort work orders as they are sent from 811 Alaska One Call, read and understand grid maps and facility maps, prepare weekly invoices for clients, prepare weekly timesheets and submit to payroll, track work orders and ensure they are completed in a timely manner, organize photo files for quick reference as needed, order supplies for locate crew as needed, ensure all files are updated and accessible at all times, work as directed by the foreman and the general manager.
Note: This is a union position covered by the IBEW. You will need to join the IBEW union if you are not already a member. This current work is seasonal, Mid-April to late November. There may be an opportunity for other winter work for the right individual.
