We currently have "Grounds Maintenance Laborer/Driver" position's available to serve our customers within the Municipality of Anchorage. This is a year round position. It is not seasonal. This is a year round permanent position (winter, spring, summer and fall). Position is Monday through Friday. We start each day at 8:AM and work a full day.
This position is great for people who enjoy general labor outdoor type work, are physically fit and don't mind picking up after dogs. However, please understand that this is absolutely not like spending a few minutes picking up after your own dog. This job is similar to the type of labor associated with lawn maintenance/landscaping. This position is not a good fit for those that are looking to "get in to shape". Field employees drive from customer home to customer home. However, on average, our field employees walk 7-10 miles per day while going through customer yards. It is cardiovasularly intensive. It is common for new field employees to be sore and achy for about a month until they become physically conditioned for the work. New field employees that are already in good physical condition adapt VERY quickly to the work.
Compensation: After the probationary period, compensation is paid by the job. Employees currently in this position average between $23-$29/hr! (depending on the individuals pace, physical condition and familiarity of the routes). The position requires that you own a vehicle to use on the job. The vehicle must be in good condition, be reliable and have appropriate tires for the weather conditions (i.e. Snow tires during the winter).
Mileage Reimbursement: We pay 67 cents per mile while providing services to our customers.
