Accounting Specialist 1

This position will work closely with the Finance Manager and Accounting Specialist III, crossover training will be part of this positions. This position will be open until filled.

Essential Functions:

Assists Accounting Specialist III and Finance/Billing Manager with daily operations of the Accounting Department

Computerized Billing Applications

Assist with Billing and Re-billing of returned or denied claims

Home Health Data Entry of Direct Services Provider (DSP) Hours

Assist with Payroll for Direct Service providers and Office Staff

Create new employee folders

Privet Pay billing VA and Medicaid

Comparison of Utilization (UT) reports for all sites to accounting checklist

Submission of MCI hard copy documents to Conduent Twice per week

Bank and Post Office runs

Assist with POs

Reports and Journals

Print, verifies & maintains payroll disbursement

Filing

Time Sheets Process

Print Copies

Correction Sheets

Match Documents

QA

File

Track Missing Originals

Check Hours & Total

In and Out Times

Archive

Reconciliation

Time sheet checklist

Skills:

High degree of accuracy and attention to detail

Experience using automated Billing and accounting systems

HIPAA policy awareness

Certification preferred

Familiarity with ICD-9 codes preferred

Excellent Communication both verbal and written

Work well under time constraints

Learning Curve:

3 months

Equipment Used:

Office equipment computers 10 Key (by touch) personal electronics

Experience:

Excel Microsoft Office Experience with Home Health & CIL Suite a plus

2-4 years of General Accounting and office. Preferred payroll, AP, a plus MCI/Conduent billing and records

Education:

High School diploma, preferred Associates in Accounting

Core Expectations:

Confidentiality, integrity, professionalism, strong work ethic, support of AAI Mission, customer focused services

Pay rate:

$17.93 to $19.61
