Position Summary: Under the direct supervision of the Lending Officer II, this non-exempt, non-supervision, entry level position assists in the underwriting of loan applications for multi-family, congregate, special needs, senior housing, and condo association lending programs in conjunction with assisting with the review and revision of these programs as well as the development, implementation and administration of new programs.

OVERVIEW

This position requires an acumen for analyzing, planning, evaluating, compiling and organizing information to be used in the underwriting of multi-family, congregate, special needs, senior housing, and condo association applications and in the formulation of policies, procedures, and guidelines. This trainee position will be required to meet specific goals in order to advance to the Multi Family Underwriter.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Non-exempt, non-supervisory position.

Examples of Duties

Assists and may be responsible for processing a variety of multi-family, congregate, special needs, senior housing, and condo association loan applications from the receipt of the application information through the closing including presentation to the loan committee. Performs credit analysis on the less complex loan applications. Interfaces with applicants and borrowers to assure compliance with various technical servicing provisions within loan documents. Assists and may be responsible for the implementation of changes to servicing procedures and/or guidelines. Assists and may be responsible for issuing Request for Proposals for loan servicing, appraisals, or loan administration services and in the evaluation of the proposals. Assists in the administration of the senior housing loan program established under AS 18.56.700 - 18.56.799. Assists in the Loans to Sponsors program. Assists in the development and implementation of new lending programs, typically related to multi-family, congregate, special needs, senior housing, and condo associations. Assists in the review and revision of existing programs. Assists in the public hearing process.

Performs other duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of: Fundamental principles of mortgage and non-mortgage lending; loan servicing; and appraisal methods and procedures.

Skills and Abilities: Planning, organizing and managing work-flow; compiling, analyzing and evaluating data and drawing sound conclusions; preparing clear, complete an concise written communications; writing creatively and speaking effectively; understanding and coping with public sector influences; working cooperatively and effectively with both Corporation personnel and external contacts; and applying fundamental lending criteria to the needs of the public sector and secondary market investors. Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, preferably Word and Excel.

Abilities: quickly learn and apply learned knowledge; follow-through on details; adapt positively to changing circumstances; and produce quality work within the constraints of deadlines.

Job Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

Graduation from high school or equivalent and four or more years of general business experience with at least two of the years in the mortgage industry.

This is a level 16-18 (DOE) position with an annual salary (DOE) (26 pay periods). Excellent benefits, and leave package.
