Our Flex- Driver/Attendants are courteous and professional individuals who help represent the best of our organization and foster a strong, positive experience for our donors. If you want a rewarding job that gets you out in the community, meeting people and making a difference, we want to talk to you.

Flex- Driver/Attendants operate one of our box trucks to go to donor homes, businesses, and community partners, and donation sites and events, to pick up and deliver donations of clothing and small household items. They also help us staff in-person donation sites and events including off-site donation drives and our Donation Center. These donations are a critical part of the funding for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Alaska. The vast majority of our pickups are in Anchorage and the Mat-Su area, but we do occasionally need drivers to travel to all corners of Alaska's road system.

Flex- Driver/Attendants will use a variety of technology and skills to do their job. They will be expected to learn and become proficient in use of some or all of the following: company provided cell phone and specialty apps, computer systems, communications software/apps including messaging, and email, scheduling software, phone systems, and more. This job requires some physical stamina, patience, flexibility, a willingness to learn, and great customer service skills.

We are willing to train the right individuals if you are willing to learn!

Required Minimum Qualifications:

-Ability clearly and comfortably communicate in English, both written and verbal.

-The ability to write and record information neatly and accurately in English

-Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor

-Minimum typing speed of 20 wpm (basic proficiency).

-Basic computer skills including the ability to use email, and web browser.

-The ability to work as a member of a team and accept direction and coaching

-Clean driving record

-The ability to safely drive 16ft cube vans

-Have held a valid driver's license for 5 years (minimum 21 years old) OR hold a CDL (minimum 18 years old)

-The ability to lift up to forty pounds on a regular basis

-Able to bend, lift, squat, climb and operate controls

-Must pass a criminal background check

-Willing to submit to (and pass) drug and alcohol screening

-Must be able to obtain DOT health permit after hire (company paid)

-Full COVID-19 Vaccine required

We offer:

-Flexible scheduling including the option of working a State of Alaska Flex plan with 4x10hour days or standard 5x8hour days.

-Full time position, part-time available for the right candidate.

-Pay to start at $15.18 per hour (or more) depending on experience. Eligible for a raise after 6 months.
