Overview:

Overall maintenance of plant under direction of the Chief Engineer. Responsible for general operation and maintenance of plants mechanical systems. Mechanical system includes generators, hydraulic systems, water systems, and sanitation systems. Performs the routine preventative maintenance and parts inventory of the factory equipment such as: fish size sorter, printers, box tape machines, block ejectors, conveyors, electric and hydraulic.

Responsibilities:

Keep the maintenance and shop rooms clean, tools and supplies put away, and the area free of clutter.

Keep stocks of tools and supplies in order; make sure parts are properly stored, keep bins organized and labeled, keep up stocks of supplies in the shops.

Repairing and maintaining plant equipment and machinery including pumps, conveyors, belting, fish processing equipment, etc.

Experience with pumps.

Experience with conveyors, belting and drive motors.

Assemble, disassemble, and/or repair equipment when needed.

Work with and assist Safety Manager with assigned duties when necessary.

Understand and become familiar with the Process Safety Management (PSM) Plan, standard operating procedures (SOP's), OSHA standards, environmental compliance requirements, and emergency response procedures.

Assist in the enhancement and management of the preventive maintenance program to improve equipment reliability, maximize operation time, efficiency and increase operator engagement

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Work experience requiring mechanical aptitude and general knowledge of engineering parts, supplies and tools.

Ability to learn quickly with flexibility to adapt to a wide variety of task.

Must be able to lift heavy parts and equipment.

Welding skills a plus.

Must have the ability to work well under pressure, 12 or more hours per day, 7 days per week.

Must be willing and able to work with other departments in a team atmosphere.

Must be willing and able to live and work in confined quarters in a multicultural environment on a rotation schedule.

Demonstrate initiative, drive, and willingness to learn.

Able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

Working Conditions:

The employee is frequently exposed to, cold and/or humid conditions and extreme cold. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and loud machinery, hearing protection and other safety and protective equipment is required. Room and Board included. Transportation provided from Seattle to job site and back upon completion of contract.
