A&P Mechanics perform routine and non-routine maintenance on company aircraft and aircraft components in a competent and effective manner. Mechanics perform routine and occasional non-routine maintenance on ground support equipment. Lynden Air Cargo is a US part 121 all-cargo airline based in Anchorage, Alaska. Lynden Air Cargo conducts operations within Alaska as well as other locations around the world, utilizing its fleet of L382 Hercules aircraft. Responsibilities

Performs all work assigned in accordance with established policies and procedures as governed by Lynden Air Cargo's GMM and applicable CFR's.

Records all work performed on the appropriate forms and in accordance with LAC's GMM.

Assumes responsibility for the work performed as indicated by signature recorded on appropriate forms.

Â

Reports any abnormal conditions or discrepancies to appropriate supervisory personnel.

Â

Performs airworthiness release of aircraft, if so authorized.

Â

Performs required inspections, if properly trained and so authorized.

Â

Assists and trains other mechanics if qualified and delegated.

Â

Performs maintenance on ground support equipment, as assigned.

Â

May act as Lead Mechanic if qualified and delegated.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Â

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

Ability to read and interpret technical documents, including, but not limited to, maintenance manuals, wiring schematics, and structural repair manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Â

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Â

REASONING ABILITY:

Ability to use common sense and sound judgment to deal with situations and multiple problems in a highly controlled and regulated environment. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

A&P License

FCC General Radio Telephone Operator License; desirable, but not required.

Current US Driver License

Current US Passport

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Must furnish all hand tools of the variety and quantity required to properly perform assigned tasks.

Must be available to work days, evenings, weekends, nights or holidays and to be away from home for extended periods of time (up to a total of 6 out of 12 months a year).

Must be available to travel domestically, to Canada and other international locations without restrictions, including entrance onto foreign military bases.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; climb or balance and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions; extreme cold; extreme heat; risk of electrical shock; explosives and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is often very loud.
