Help Us Spread Local Produce Goodness this Winter! (Spenard)

Alaska, Anchorage / mat-su 00000 Anchorage / mat-su USA

Vacancy expired!

Arctic Harvest Deliveries is a small, Anchorage-based, local produce & meat delivery company. We are a values driven business whose mission is to create opportunities for local farmers by building relationships within our Alaskan food network. We do this through wholesaling (mostly to restaurants) as well as through a subscription produce box program for individual consumers.

We are looking for a responsible, self-motivated and hard-working employee to fill our part-time winter delivery driver position. This is a physically demanding position involving getting in and out of the back of a box truck regularly, lifting heavy boxes up to 60 lbs, and moving them via hand truck. The right candidate will be comfortable working and driving in inclement weather and be flexible and adaptable, as we are in the middle of some system-wide changes as we continue to expand. This position turns into full time in the summer and we are willing to keep the right person on year-round if desired.

The ideal candidate would have interest in/experience with produce, local food, agriculture or similar, and experience driving large vehicles, but most importantly, a willingness to learn. A clean driving record is a must. This is a woman owned and operated business and both females and males are encouraged to apply!

-Inspect products to ensure quality

Requirements:

-Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs continuously throughout the day

-Knowledge of produce/local food/agriculture and ability to identify basic produce varieties is a plus

-Excellent organizational and time management skills

-Great customer service skills and friendly, professional attitude

-Excellent communication skills

-Attention to detail

-High school degree

To apply, please send an email with a brief description of why you want to work for us, why you would be a good fit for the job, and a current resume. A driving record and background check will be required as well as a commercial drivers physical which we will pay for.
