Senior Voice Engineer to

work on a government contract for a client located in

Fairbanks, AK. An active Secret Clearance is required.

Responsibilities
  • The Senior Voice Engineer Resident Systems Support Specialist (RS3) is responsible for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) on-site support and training to the 59th Signal (SIG) Battalion (BN) for twelve (12) months.
  • The RS3 is responsible to provide technical assistance to maintain VoIP system performance ensuring voice communications.
  • The RS3 will demonstrate knowledge and experience designing, installing, managing, maintaining and troubleshooting the VoIP network systems and support SIG BN maintenance personnel.
  • The RS3 individual will be primarily responsible for providing technical assistance to maintain VoIP network system performance. This applies to basic data, voice and, VoIP components, and all subsequent phases/additions implemented during the 12 months of support.
  • The RS3 will support SIG BN NEC maintainers and VoIP users during the VoIP transition process by providing direct assistance to the NEC in support of the legacy voice to VoIP transition efforts.
  • The RS3 will have privileged access to the networking environment and is identified as performing the functions of Trainer / Instructor to the NEC personnel on the newly installed VoIP network system and existing VoIP users.
  • The RS3 individual will provide a working knowledge of the VoIP network system installed to include knowledge and experience designing, installing, managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting data, voice and VoIP network systems.
  • Support SIG BN NEC maintenance personnel, when and where the installed VoIP network systems interact and effect the operations and maintenance.
  • The RS3 will maintain/update a technical manual of procedures to follow for NEC personnel to use during maintaining and troubleshooting of all new equipment installed on this contract.
  • Will maintain an updated copy of the technical manual on the Telos Portal.
  • The RS3 will provide weekly and monthly reports on provided support.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • An active Secret clearance is required.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent experience is required.
  • 5 years of experience managing and troubleshooting VoIP systems is required.
  • 3 years of experience on DoD networks is preferred.
  • Strong documentation and writing skills to create and update detailed technical documents.
  • Have experience in Microsoft Visio and Microsoft Word is required.
  • Strong verbal communication to interact with customer and peers.
  • Experience in Cisco Communications Manager - Version 12.5:
    • Dial-Plan - CSS, Partitions, Route Patterns, Route Lists, Route Groups, Local Route Groups, Translations, SIP Trunking (SIP Profile and Security Profiles).
    • Analog Gateways using SCCP, FIPS 140-2 Encryption, Encrypting Cluster, Integrating LDAP Directory, Cluster running in mixed mode, Cluster running fully SRTP, and Media Resources using IOS Hardware/Software.
  • Experience in Cisco CCNA Collaboration is required.
  • Experience in Cisco CCNP, CCVP and/or CCIE is preferred.
  • Experience in Cisco UCS Servers: BE7M, C-240 and C-220.
  • Experience in CIMC configuration and troubleshooting hardware issues.
  • Understand how to cable and port channels.
  • Virtualization: Ability to configure ESXi 6.7 and 7.0 including vswitch, deploy OVAs and install SSL certs.
  • Experience in UC Applications: Proficient (minimum 5 years) in configuring, maintaining and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in working with Cisco Smart Licensing.
  • Experience in Cisco Unity Connection - Version 12.5:
    • Dual HA Cluster setup and configuration.
    • Setting up Users and Auto Attendants.
    • SIP Trunking Integration with CUCM.
    • Installing SSL certs.
  • Experience in Cisco UCCX - 12.5:
    • Understanding in setting up Agents/Teams/Skills/Queues.
    • Basic CCX Scripting a plus but not required.
    • Installing SSL certs.
  • Experience in Cisco CER - 12.5:
    • Setting up and configuring HA CER Cluster.
    • Configuring Onsite Alerts and Conventual ERL for each site.
    • Understanding CUCM dial plan configuration and implementation for CER.
    • Installing SSL certs.
  • Experience in Cisco Webex Meeting Server - 4.x:
    • Ability to manage dial - in numbers and meetings for Blast Dial, setting up user and alerting.
    • Installing SSL certs.
  • Experience in Cisco CUBE using 4451 ISRs using HA configuration - 16.12.4:
    • Configure and manage dial plan.
    • Encryption using DISA guidelines.
    • Troubleshoot SIP and audio issues.
    • SIP Trunking to CUCM and SIP Trunking to DISA SBCs.
    • Configuring trustpoints and installing SSL Certs.
    • Ability to troubleshoot SRTP audio issues.
  • Experience in Cisco VG450 Analog Gateways:
    • Using Encrypted SCCP/SRTP configuration and troubleshooting.
    • Understand Analog wiring and cabling to the VG450.
    • Configuring trustpoints and installing SSL Certs.
  • The environment is encrypted from signaling and SRTP so important to have worked in a secure environment.
  • SSL certificates understanding and creating CSRs and installing them.
  • Networking:
    • Good understanding of VLANs and IP Addressing, switching, and LAN Cabling.
