Employment Specialist Coordinator
The Fairbanks Reentry Team is currently looking to fill the position of Employment Specialist Coordinator. This position is responsible for supervising Employment Specialists to include meeting with staff, monitoring their documentation, and ensuring they follow the 10 fundamental elements and guiding principles of mental health recovery. The Employment Specialist Coordinator will complete Individual Service Plans, evaluate them every 6 months, and monitor the scheduling and education of the Employment Specialists to include coordinating training. Lastly, this position will participate in the Reentry Team meetings and keep updated on all changes that occur within the State of Alaska Peer Support certification process.
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelors degree and two years of mental health direct care experience, which may include experience in peer support services; job or experience can be used in lieu of the degree; Knowledge of all aspects of the supported employment programs and the completion of a supported employment training curriculum within 6 months of assuming the position of Peer Support Coordinator; At least one year of supervisory experience; Excellent interpersonal, group and written communication skills; Proficient with computers and ability to do data entry; Knowledge of clinical processes including mental health and substance abuse treatment; Ability to analyze complex issues and solve them creatively; Ability to handle sensitive issues in a mature, confidential manner with integrity and compassion; Ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds, cultures and lifestyles; And a commitment to agency mission and goals.
