Basic Overview:

Heavy equipment rental company is looking for an exceptional person who possesses basic heavy equipment related mechanical skills, aptitude as well as basic knowledge of heavy construction and mining equipment. Candidate must desire to eventually become heavy equipment mechanic. Desired candidate would have completed technical training and or have 1+ years of hands on experience working on or around heavy construction and mining equipment.

Job Description:

Work with mechanics on service and repair jobs as well as other task as needed

Wash and detail of equipment and vehicles

Keep shop, yards, office organized and clean at all times

Safely, effectively, accurately and in a timely fashion conduct parts runs throughout Fairbanks and other areas as needed.

Other duties as needed and or directed.

Job Requirements:

Ability to safely and effectively work as well as adhere to strict company and customer safety program at all times. No exceptions.

Ability to safely operate company vehicles

Ability to work in remote locations for extended periods of time as needed.

Communicate verbally, electronically and in writing information, instructions and explanations to management and customers regarding vehicle equipment conditions.

Exceptional communication skills are required.

Ability to schedule multiple task as directed from management and to be able to finish them in a safe, effective and timely manner.

Ability to maintain company vehicles and all shop equipment such as forklifts, pressure washers etc in a safe, clean and reliable condition.

Basic computer, internet and email knowledge is required.

Ability to properly and accurately fill out daily time cards and turn them in on a weekly basis.

Ability and desire to learn the Caterpillar parts systems, ordering process as well as general parts, hardware and supplies knowledge.

Appropriate professional and personal manner, conduct, and grooming as well as adhere to company policy at all times.

Ability to work cooperatively and communicate effectively to management as well as other employees.

Consistent and punctual attendance is a must.

Ability to at times work extended hours, weekends and holidays as well as unscheduled call out when needed.

Current driver's license with clean driving record. DOT physical and medical card is required.

Ability to pass pre-employment criminal background check, drug screening as well as random drug screening process at any time.

Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.

MSHA training is required.

Position is in a No Smoking Work Place due to fire hazards.
