This Job will continue till the end of the season which will be either October or November 2019.
The Breakfast Cook prepares the breakfast and stocks the spike table for the employees staying in the logging camp. The Breakfast Cook is responsible for the cleaning of the kitchen and all appliances used as well as providing a list of grocery and other items needed to be ordered for their meals. The Cook will be required to learn and follow the existing menu. A successful Breakfast Cook must have the following experience/qualifications;
Alaska Food Workers Card, or the capability to acquire one
Ability to cook for up to 80 individuals
The Cook must be able to instruct employees working underneath them
Previous Cooking experience at a food service establishment
A passion for cooking
The ability to multitask and display highest possible form of endurance when conditions get tough
The ability to adhere strictly to directives and instructions from superiors
Sound mental condition; ability to avoid as many mistakes as possible during work
Must have integrity and honesty
Possess good communication skills
Knowledge of the basic skills involved in cooking; how to prepare recipes offered by the establishment and
knowledge of how to use pans, knives, grills, and other cooking equipment
Must have self-confidence to be comfortable with all persons
Must possess the ability to be flexible
Ability to supervise others in a professional way, all employees and co-workers must be treated with
professionalism
Ability to work with little or no supervision
Ability to integrate into a team
The Breakfast Cook lives in the logging camp which is in a remote location on Prince of Wales Island in Southeast Alaska, room and board is provided, there is cell service and we do have wi-fi in the cook house. Please call if you would like to be part of our team.
