Case Manager/ Client Resource Coordinator

GHS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people in Juneau restore their lives when they are adversely affected by addiction, or homelessness or incarceration.

This position, Client Resource Coordinator, will assist all clients of Gastineau Human Services to resolve problems in a variety of areas: housing, employment, education, transportation, substance abuse treatment, legal issues, mental and physical health, family, social issues, and basic needs. As a client advocate, the Client Resource Coordinator will engage in respectful, compassionate, fair interactions with clients from diverse backgrounds and assist the client to remove obstacles which impair their ability to achieve their goals.

Schedule: 40 hours per week, M-F; with at least one evening shift.

Starting annual income DOE beginning at: $20.28 per hour to $25.69 per hour, see qualifications for more information.

Knowledge/ Abilities/Skills:

Knowledge of local and statewide behavioral health and housing resources and a working knowledge of the Alaska criminal justice system.

Basic understanding of addictions, mental health and co-occurring issues.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team; organizational, time management, and problem solving skills;

Ability to "think on your feet" and remain calm in challenging situations;

Patience, flexibility, compassion, and a sense of humor;

Enjoy interacting with different client populations;

Willingness to work with recovering adults who may have criminal histories and/or be dually diagnosed;

Qualifications:

One year of experience in direct human services and commitment to successfully complete the Behavioral Health Associate or Chemical Dependency Tech Certificate through RADACT within the first year of employment. Starting pay DOE: $20.28- $24.22 per hour

OR

Behavioral Health Associate or Chemical Dependency Tech Certificate. Starting pay DOE: $20.89- $24.95per hour

OR

A bachelors degree in the social services or a related field. Starting pay DOE: $21.52- $25.69 per hour

Requires background check and pre-employment drug screening.

Must be able to be insurable by GHS auto insurance.
