The Juneau Montessori School is actively seeking an Executive Director.
The candidate will be knowledgeable in AMI Montessori Pedagogy, has a passion for public advocacy of Montessori Pedagogy and an appreciation for small towns. We are looking for the right candidate ready for a chance to grow and continue to advocate for Montessori Education in Juneau and the State of Alaska.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: creating a strong culture that reflects the mission of JMS, building a strong community with staff, parents and children, managing JMS budget, enrollment projections and recruitment of students, hiring/managing teaching staff and furthering staff professional development as well as understanding of functions of non-profit organizations and functions of a board of directors.
Qualifications:
-Bachelors Degree, related or unrelated field
-Must be 21+
-Administrator Credential, optional
-12 credits in Early Childhood, child development or related field
-1+ year of experience working with non-profits or early childhood education
-1+ year of supervising staff
-AMI Montessori Trained
