The position handles cash and credit transactions along with providing prompt and courteous assistanceto customers and donors within the store, warehouse, and business office. The position may be required to assist with the smooth and efficient operation of different locations consisting of the Kenai and Soldotna stores, warehouses, Food Bank, or businessoffices. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE but are not limited to: Operate cash register, do daily cash sheets, and assist customers Maintain stock including but not limited to: moving items from backrooms to sales floor; sorting; hanging; pricing; merchandising; and discarding non-usable items Load and unload donations and/or supplies Assist with on-going cleaning to keep the store in a presentable appearance, both inside and outside In the Food Bank: take applications; prepare food baskets/commodities; food pick-ups as needed; keep area cleanRequirementsQualificationsA. High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent.B. Must be able to stand for entire shift and able to lift and carry 70 lbs.C. Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills as well as able to perform basic reading, writing and mathematical skills.D. Able to work/interact effectively with the public, co-workers, and volunteers.E. Able to understand and follow instructions.F. Must be able to demonstrate the highest level of business and client confidentiality.G. Must pass all background checks required by The Salvation Army.
