What does a great Senior Automation Engineer do?

A Senior Automation Engineer will analyze, define, design, test, implement and continuously mature automation solutions for the collection, dissemination and management of cryptographic data within existing and evolving company systems globally. It is essential for a Security Software Engineer to collaborate with product and system owners, data custodians, business analysts, software development engineers, project and program managers, and end users to engineer configurable, policy based solutions to align with company policies and industry regulations while supporting local country, business or technology specific operating requirements.

In this role, you can expect to:
  • Execute initiatives supporting our automation strategy, manage operating workflows and progress continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Consult with a wide variety of business, technical and compliance support teams to determine data protection and operating requirements to fulfill cryptographic key support needs.
  • Collect, define and document requirements for optimizing new and existing processes, and requisite system and procedural controls to ensure compliance with security requirements and best practices.
  • Define, document and maintain data flow diagrams, process workflows and standard operating procedures.
  • Perform data management tasks, including data definitions, validation, analysis, standardization, anomaly detection, normalization and reconciliation.
  • Facilitate process workflow modeling and simulations of end-to-end use cases to validate the accuracy and completeness of detailed requirements, designs and scope of needed capabilities.
  • Drive development and execution of quality assurance procedures and system integration test plans.
  • Assist a variety of technical and non-technical individuals to troubleshoot problems, identify and implement new or amended system functionality, identify operational process gaps and take corrective actions.

Basic Qualifications for Consideration:
  • 5+ years working in a business analyst, solutions engineering or audit/risk/information management role.
  • 2+ years financial payment services experience with an emphasis on payment authentication mechanisms and sensitive data protection employing cryptographic capabilities.
  • 2+ years software development experience using object oriented programming, creating dynamic web pages, and at least 1 year working with Python and/or JavaScript.
  • Knowledge of:
    • waterfall, agile and hybrid software development approaches
    • Jira management tool
    • Cryptography as a Service (CaaS) concepts
    • cloud key management approaches and solutions
    • symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, key management lifecycle concepts and controls
    • cryptographic and sensitive data protection industry standards (ANSI, ISO, PCI)

Preferred Skills, Experience, and Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Technology/Assurance, Computer Science or Software Engineering.
