Northrop Grumman Space Systems is searching for a Cyber Systems Administrator to join the Systems Engineering Integration & Test Team within Launch Vehicles business unit to support the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense (GMD) Program located at Chandler, AZ.

Roles and Responsibilities: The candidate will be filling a role that requires a broad array of knowledge and skills heavily focused on Systems Administration. The candidate will closely collaborate with cyber systems engineers, electrical engineers, and software engineers supporting GMD Cyber Security program. We're looking for a highly motivated individual with an impeccable work ethic and a strong ability to work in a collaborative fast-moving dynamic team environment.

Your duties and responsibilities include (but not limited to):
  • Ability to work under limited supervision and complete projects on time and on budget
  • Coordination with Cyber Systems Engineers.
  • Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation, and provides backup recovery.
  • Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources.
  • Periodically conduct a complete review of each system's audits and monitor corrective actions until all actions are closed.
  • Perform Systems Administrator duties to maintain the security vulnerability management program as prescribed by the ISSM.
  • Audit systems and user accounts monthly
  • Perform monthly ACAS and SCAP (SCC) scans
  • Maintain hardware and software of lab systems:
    • Operating Systems:
      • Windows 10 & 11 SHB
      • RHEL 7.5 & 8
    • Collect logs and data to help evaluate and optimize performance
    • System and software upgrades
    • System and application patching
    • Break/fix
    • Investigations into system level requirements/issues
    • New system builds/deployments
    • Anticipate needs of the network and computer systems before setting it up and install new software per change management process
  • Account related duties:
    • Creation (mandated by ISSO approval)
    • Configure group policies and permissions
    • Disable/deletion based on non-use, terminations or program change
    • Password resets as required
  • Troubleshoot GMD system issues:
    • Hardware
    • Software/applications
  • Follow change management process to maintain and generate (as required) documentation of changes to system (e.g., patching, upgrading, etc) and network changes, and provide to ISSO for inclusion in Configuration Baseline.
    • Support test events for all aspects of systems and software
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, plus 3 years (or a Master's degree in a related field plus 1 years) of experience in Systems Administration; or in lieu of degree 7 years of Systems Administration experience is required
  • US Citizenship is required
  • Ability to obtain U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance
  • Must possess DoD 8570 Certification for IAT Level II or higher (e.g., Security+ CE)
  • Experience configuring, administering and maintaining computer systems operating using Windows 7, Windows 10, and Linux (RHEL 7.5 and 8)
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience writing scripts (e.g. Batch, Bash, PowerShell, Python) to automate routine tasks
  • Experience supporting ISSM/ISSO tasks in defense industry or other U.S. government facility.
  • Experience with configuring, maintaining, and monitoring security devices specifically firewalls, auditing software, and MFA.
  • Experience with analysis, disposition, and evaluation of both hardware and software.
  • Experience in the management and maintenance of systems required to satisfy the Certification and Accreditation requirements under the NIST RMF and CSF.

Salary Range: $66,600 USD - $99,800 USD Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
