Job Description

The Opportunity:

The Senior Manager of Operational Risk Management ("ORM") is responsible for taking ownership of key aspects of the ORM function and supporting all "first line" risk management for Lendage operations. In addition, you will:

- Be responsible for promoting risk-awareness and risk prevention across Lendage in the day to day activities, including developing, translating and implementing programs, procedures and processes to maintain the overall effectiveness of our risk mitigation efforts.

- Oversee the Compliance Management Program, in partnership with Compliance and Legal teams that support Lendage.

- Provide support and advice to key operating departments (sales, underwriting, closing, servicing) to ensure appropriate risk management is applied to operational policies, procedures and processes.

- Assist with state expansion efforts, state licensing, and required reporting with state and investors, etc. through collaboration with key stakeholders.

- Assist with key third party vendor relationships for continued risk and control oversight.

How You'll Contribute:

- Partner and collaborate across multiple business units (e.g., personal & mortgage lending) and functions (e.g., marketing, sales, origination, closing, and product) to support risk and compliance-based initiatives, in order to effectively manage and mitigate operational, compliance, and reputational risk.

- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of existing and emerging mortgage lending regulatory requirements, operational processes, inherent risks, and internal policies & practices to provide advice to stakeholders.

- Partner with the leadership team to ensure existing and emerging risks stemming from business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.

- Lead initiatives and programs to identify and assess risks and controls, develop strategies to remediate gaps identified, and implement processes to effectively manage and mitigate risk.

- Assist all departments in translating policy requirements into executable, written, and compliant business activities.

- Create effective risk reporting and trend analysis; advise senior management on the status of the control environments related to risk identification and control weaknesses. Identify critical areas to monitor and escalate issues and findings to appropriate stakeholders.

- Gather documentation and archives needed to fulfill requests related to federal and state exams and internal and external audits.

- Assist with the regulatory change management process to help institute necessary changes in processes and procedures

- Assist with translating control deficiencies into action plans and provide recommendations to enhance practices in alignment with acceptable risk and compliance frameworks.

- Anticipate business needs and proactively identify opportunities to improve and strengthen the control environment through actionable insights.

You will work closely with the Head of Operational Risk Management, as well as the President of Lendage and the heads of mortgage sales, product, operations, investor reporting, and capital markets. This is a multi-dimensional role that requires an ability to thoughtfully prioritize, collaborate, communicate and execute on key program management and risk management items under tight deadlines, with an exceptional focus on quality and details.

What You'll Bring:

- Results-oriented individual, with a sense of urgency, and an eye towards detail and compliance.

- Bachelor's Degree with minimum 5-7+ years in an ORM or business controls role, with a strong background in the mortgage industry.

- Ability to work well independently, as well as in a team environment. Seeks feedback and accepts constructive inputs and coaching on a consistent basis, with a continual desire to get better.

- Highly effective communicator with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and concepts. Strong collaborator with a proven ability to build strong relationships at all levels within a fast-paced team environment.

- Must be well-organized and have flexibility with schedule.

- A strong drive to succeed and exceed goals.
