Job Title : Business Systems Analyst

Job Location : 100% remote

Job Type : 12 months contract

Job Overview
  • Supporting the BOS application and development. Up front requirements to gather.
  • High level story or business processes. Work with business to gather requirements and define.
  • They have a process for this and how it integrates with the SW dev team.
  • They are 6-8 weeks ahead of the dev team.
  • Work with the Product Owner. Architecting high level back-office rewrite application.
  • Have a significant amount of runway that needs detailed business requirements fleshed out.
  • Hefty backlog to start with that encompasses all parts of their business.
  • Must be personable. May have to come into the office, occasionally.
  • Two weekly stakeholder meetings it would be good to have them in for. Contract only. Same challenges as the Tech writer. Do not need to have a background in governance. TW can handle that. May write test cases. May not be technical test cases. User interface test team. UAT testing. Agile.
  • They move very fast. Faster than two-week sprints. Very complex. Cross-reference existing business rules and produce solutions to existing problems or ways to improve. Someone who questions when they don’t understand, and things don’t make sense. A lot of this will be foreign to them.
  • They need to speak up and learn quickly. Be aggressive about it. Not embarrassed or shy about doing so. They are aware that there is a lot of information, and it will take a while to come up to speed. There will be existing people to shadow. They have doc standards.
  • They are adding to the SDLC of how they will interreact. The product roadmap is in okay shape. Will get to where they want by the time this person is onboarded. Industry knowledge is trial by fire. Try to interpret a lot of unknown information for quite some time after they start
  • At least seven years of experience. Find someone with Salesforce. That will bump up the rate. By $20 hourly. Does not have to have Salesforce. Prefer not Salesforce now. Will engage and have exposure to Salesforce. That could be a selling point. Lots of salesforce interaction around the test cases.
  • Most of the user interfaces will be in Salesforce. 12-month good chance to extend. Could turn into perm but don’t sell it that way. They envision a several year contract.
  • The Bos project is 2.5-3 years. Both could stay and do a lot of the wrap up activity at the end of the project. Will go from going live to adding enhancements from the parking lot. Greenfield project. PO will run meeting and do true PO duties. They don’t have Scrum Masters.
  • They don’t care about certs. Would like to convert to perm. Three days in the office per week. Interface with the developers and the business. Would be like a 12-month CTH. There are no rules making contractor some into the office. Perm must three days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze partner requirements and define work across multiple teams
  • Schedule and prioritize the work within the teams working closely with development and operations teams
  • Communicate transparently with business partners
  • Coordinate work with external partners to ensure full delivery
  • Ensure all partner requirements are fully tested by coordinating with the quality assurance team

Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field
  • 7 years experience as a business analyst writing technical requirements
  • 3 years experience managing projects
  • 3 years experience working in an agile environment
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English
  • 3 years experience creating BPMN workflows

Preferred Qualifications
  • Working experience with JIRA
  • Experience in process engineering and process refinement
  • Experience with cloud environments
