The Club at Seven Canyons is currently looking for an enthusiastic candidate to be part of our Golf Course Maintenance Team. Requirements listed below:
Basic Function: Assistant golf course superintendent reports directly to the Director of Agronomy/Course Superintendent. Under the superintendents supervision, the assistant superintendent directs and participates in the maintenance of the golf course tees, greens, fairways, and car paths; supervises the maintenance and repair of motorized and other mechanical equipment; and does related work as required. The assistant superintendent may serve in the superintendents capacity during his/her absence.
Work Performed:
1. Assists in planning and supervising the maintenance of greens, tees and fairway; schedules work and supervise the employees and the use of equipment.
2. Instructs equipment operators on the operation and care of mowing and other equipment; supervises pesticide applications and/or operates and calibrates pesticide application equipment; supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, and in the maintenance of irrigation of drainage systems.
3. Assists in personnel management and evaluation, employee safety, personnel discipline and may also modify the daily work schedule based on professional interpretation.
4. Assimilate into the culture through understanding, supporting and participating in all elements of Seven Canyons Standards. Demonstrate working knowledge of the service standards.

Minimum Requirements:
Working knowledge of the maintenance of golf course tees, fairways, greens; the seeding and maintenance practices for the golf course turf; the planting, cultivating, pruning, and caring for plants, shrubs and trees; the characteristics and proper use of various fertilizers and soil conditioners; herbicides and pest control methods and materials; drainage control methods; and irrigation system, including wells, pumps and automatic controls. Ability to schedule and supervise maintenance work to achieve the most efficient utilization of workers and equipment; to prepare clear and concise reports; and to maintain effective employee and public relations. Possession of a valid drivers license. May require current state certification or licensing as a pesticide applicator. Maintain a clean, safe, work environment. Assist in maintaining a clean and well-organized parts inventory room. Adhering to proper recycling and/or disposal of various oils, compounds and other fluids (anti freeze, oil filters, etc. Assisting in an effective, daily inspection of golf course maintenance equipment. Possession of a valid drivers license, possibly a commercial drivers license (CDL). Safety sensitive position.
