Description:

Provide excellent child care for children that attend events at Trinity Heights United Methodist Church. Part-time, hours scheduled on an as-needed basis. Non-exempt status. This position is supervised by the Director of Children and Family Ministries. Starting pay is at current minimum wage.

Job Responsibilities:

Provides supervision to children who enter into Child Care during events and church activities, ensures their safety and well-being, and creates a warm, uplifting atmosphere for families and children.

Presents and leads children through fun and engaging activities while they are in care.

Checks children in and out of Child Care to ensure safety, asking parents/guardians if their child has any special needs, medical issues, or allergies.

Helps children use the restroom, maintaining excellent hygiene, and eat snacks/meals.

Prepares room before children are present, and cleans up afterward according to THUMC standards.

Communicates with the Director of Children and Family Ministries in a timely manner regarding availability and scheduling of shifts.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

A Christian dedicated to Christian service, demonstrating a personal relationship with Jesus

Christ and a commitment to helping form children as deeply committed followers of Jesus Christ

Experience providing high-quality care for children, so as to be able to provide enthusiastic and

skilled direct care to kids, including play, hygiene, and helping with use of the restroom.

Works and communicates effectively in a collaborative environment with co-workers, volunteers,

church staff, and parents/guardians.

Outstanding communication skills with children and able to demonstrate love for children through

interaction.

High-level of responsibility for work, and punctual arrival for all shifts.

Able to work outside regular hours and be flexible with changes in schedule.

Able to create and maintain an organized and clean environment for child care.
