The Broadcast Networks Team is responsible for all aspects of the Broadcast Networks infrastructure including satellite uplink centers, data center and remote site operations. This includes architecture and design, creating standards and best practices, evaluate new technologies, fulfilling work requests, responding to incidents, supporting system change requests and project support.

Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:
  • Provide Tier 2 and 3 escalated network support Perform fault management and problem resolution in a highly complex, mission critical network environment
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure problem resolution and minimize time to restoral
  • Provide a high level of critical thinking in driving successful resolution of high-impact, complex, cross-functional problems
  • Network change management: support modifications, maintenance to complex network systems
  • Perform software and hardware upgrades to maintain the high performance requirements of the environment Lead implementation of new systems into production network
  • Perform capacity planning and management of Cisco LAN and WAN backbone connections
  • Seek out and suggest opportunities for improvement, including changes in technologies and procedures Create and support network management objectives, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to train and assist junior engineers.
  • Ensure that network documentation is kept up-to-date.

Primary Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • 4+ years of progressively related experience
  • CCNP certification or equivalent knowledge and experience
  • Must be able to participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation
  • Requires high proficiency with Layer 3 routing and advanced routing technologies
  • Must have advanced functional knowledge of the following technologies: BGP, OSPF and IP Multicast
  • Must have excellent communication skills, effectively interact with management, vendors and customers and should be able to effectively communicate complex issues in a clear straightforward manner
  • Ability to apply advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve complex problems are essential
  • Must have hands-on experience with and working knowledge of the following equipment: Cisco Catalyst (7600s, 6500s, 3800, 9300, 9600), ASR9000
  • Data Center Technologies: Cisco Nexus (N9K, N7K, N5k), Juniper QFX
  • Advanced knowledge of data security and firewalls
  • Works effectively with cross-functional teams and must be flexible enough to deal with different technical skill levels and skill sets
  • Ability to deal with concurrent problems and issues effectively. Proven ability to work in a dynamic and high-pressure environment

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent
  • Next-generation technologies: SDN (Cisco ACI/NSO, Juniper Contrail/Apstra, VMWare NSX-T), Virtualization/Container architecture and management (Kubernetes, Docker, VMWare Tanzu, Redhat Openshift, Rancher etc)
  • Experience with JUNOS and Juniper Networks equipment
  • Experience with Cisco ASA and Checkpoint Firewalls
  • Experience with F5 load balancers
  • Proficiency with IOS XR
  • Knowledge of MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 standards
