Job Summary:The Assistant Manager, Security at Desert Diamond Arena is responsible for overseeing the performance and conduct of all security officers, including event security, responsible for the day-to-day 24-hour security operations.Essential Duties:

Works with the Manager of Security to oversee and manage the day to day 24hr security operations and event security staff at Desert Diamond Arena

Monitors the performance, conduct and attendance of security officers, and leads assigned to the site. Responsible for conduct & effectiveness of the security team as a cohesive unit

Ensures the appearance of the entire security team reflects the standards of professionalism established by Desert Diamond Arena. Ensure accuracy of the all logs and incident reports and proper control of the lost & found items turned into the Security Department at the assigned site. Assist in creating and implementing post orders for the security team on site

Assist in maintaining proper staffing level at the site for both daily 24hr as well as events. Work with the Manager of Security to forecast staffing needs for each event. Meet all assigned tasks within the guidelines & deadlines set by the Facility’s Security Manager.

Interact with ASM patrons, vendors & employees in a courteous and professional manner

Assist in creating & conducting on-going, in-service training for the security personnel assigned to the site. This includes yearly departmental training as well as the annual Emergency Procedures training.

Assist in m anaging and controlling the key program at the assigned site as well as lost and found inventory, radio inventory and allocation, medical equipment, arena credentials, and proxy access.

Assist in conducting periodical performance appraisals of the security officers and leads assigned to the site.

Assist with the interviewing, hiring, and training process for all the security officers and leads on site at DDA. Apply disciplinary actions for all security officers and leads on site as necessary.

Responsible for the scheduling process of all security officers and leads on site. This includes gathering and imputing availability into the scheduling system (ABI) as well as scheduling each event for the security department.

Work with HR in the processing of employee time records on a daily basis for payroll. This included clearing up WIP edits/errors in ABI and imputing proper records for payroll as well as employee notes.

Required Qualifications:

A minimum education level of: Bachelor of Arts/Sciences Degree (4-year) in Criminal Justice or a related field

3 – 5 years of related work experience

Previous management/supervisory experience in a related role

Ability to pass a criminal background check, employment verification, and drug screening

An understanding of all the rules of law enforcement, including relevant penal codes.

Ability to accept responsibility for the performance & conduct of the entire security team assigned to the site.

Ability to represent ASM Global and the Security Department in an exemplary manner.

Ability to exhibit leadership qualities, motivate staff & lead by example.

Ability to maintain good business relations with all the employees & managers.

Ability to effectively manage crises and work under pressure without loss of composure.

Ability to interact effectively and calmly with angry or emotional patrons and employees during intensely aggravated circumstances.

Ability to communicate, comprehend and follow instructions. Ability to maintain patron, employee and company confidentiality.

Ability to supervise effectively, fairly and efficiently.

Ability to coach, train, and develop security officers, security leads and security supervisors.

Ability to memorize, recollect and quickly retrieve relevant information. Exhibit maturity by making sound judgments.

Have A good understanding of the guest services role of the arena as well as the security team.

Ability to create, implement, and present training materials to the department as well as the arena. Possibility to work nights, weekends and holidays.
