Leads, designs, develops, test and implements applications and system components, tools and utilities, models, simulation, and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies. Resolves coding, testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature. Responsible for defining opportunities across IT to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost. Ensures that systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk. Mentors and trains other members of the team. Partners with Management, Dev, QA, production support and platform engineering teams effectively. Focuses on building relevant capabilities in the organization to keep pace with demand and best practices in the industry. Manages vendor/contractor partnerships to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Designs, codes, tests, debugs and documents programs using Agile development practices. Operates in restricted to niche domains: such as Capital Markets, Quants, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning. Leads implementation of complex projects/initiatives on above domain. Understands and leads the team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and works with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives. Mentors lower level team members.Required Qualifications: 10+ years of software engineering experience 7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: securities, quantitative trading, artificial intelligence, or machine learningDesired Qualifications: Masters degree or higher in computer science or finance An industry-standard technology certification Basic knowledge of industry regulations related to building technological solutionsThis position will be for a developer in the Hybrid Environments organization to support the release of our go forward cloud platforms.Must have- Senior developer with full stack experience in Java or .Net Core. For java spring boot is key (3-5 years).
- Expert level understanding of Kubernetes and application specific concerns - Threading\clustering\memory management knowledge required.
- Must be able to describe, define, and implement common design patterns (Façade\factory\observer\adapter\etc).
- Enterprise API development experience using a common framework\platform(Apigee\MuleSoft\etc).
- Should have at least a passing understanding of 12 factor\cloud native development.
- Must have experience with one or more automated unit testing frameworks (Junit\Nunit\) and common automated testing tools (Selenium, Appium, Cucumber, Lambdatest) - Expert level knowledge of maven\gradle and application dependency management.
- Self-starter\independent thinking\excellent problem solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills - Working knowledge and understanding of application security concepts and specific implementation details of software hardening.
- Working knowledge of various database platforms (Mongo\Oracle\Postgres).
- Good working knowledge of GIT (UI a must, CLI a plus) - Experience and comfort level in working within self-directed Agile development teams using Lean or LeSS models.
- Some experience with process automation in Python\Perl\Bash\etc with extra points for Python.
- Certification in one or more CSPs(AWS\Google Cloud Platform\Azure) - Containerization experience with Docker and\or Kubernetes - Terraform experience in both usage and automation of provisioning via API - Data visualization experience via portal delivery and\or business intelligence platforms.
- Ability to assimilate new concepts and learn new technologies rapidly - insatiable curiosity (hard to measure but you know it when you see it).
