DescriptionSupport the Payroll department as a Payroll Clerk at a growing company in the Construction/Contractor industry Accountemps has partnered with, based in the Phoenix, Arizona area. This challenging position calls for a candidate with a strong sense of initiative looking to advance their career path and work alongside an industry leader. The company is looking for a candidate to join their dynamic, fast-growing team who can effectively communicate with both the internal team and outside customers. The Payroll Clerk's duties will include data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution and providing statements to various departments. Are you looking for a Payroll Clerk position? Build and run custom reports
Be the main point of instruction/training contact to employees regarding payroll-related best practices
Distribute and administer reports as instructed
Enter data into spreadsheets and the payroll system
Data entry into spreadsheets and the payroll system
Perform basic clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc
Contact employees via email and phone to obtain timesheet approvals
Requirements
Strong organization skills
Payroll software experience recommended
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to easily learn new systems
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
Knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Comprehensive knowledge of payroll
Previous payroll experience
