Vaco is on the hunt for a strong, senior level QA Engineer for a Scottsdale-based client. This role will plan, execute and track QA testing and certification of newly developed enterprise-level, web-based eCommerce solutions. You will contribute heavily to the automated testing effort, utilizing both internal automation tools and SAS QA solutions. You will work closely with the development team and attached Product Owners in the Agile SCRUM methodology.

Position Requirements:

  • Favor automated testing solutions over manual testing. Utilize Automated QA test framework to certify new features and defects in both mobile and websites in all phases of deployment.
  • Effectively communicate progress and provide QA status reports and metrics that are consumable by executives, non-technical business stakeholders and other team members.
  • Utilize QA Automation tools and framework by writing automated tests or provide tests to be automated from test cases you generate.
  • Act as an escalation point and mentor for other team members. Create training procedures and regularly offer sessions to present new concepts and procedures. Review work product from the team to ensure quality of implementation.
  • Continuously improve and maintain test case library, pursuing an optimized mix of manual and automated tests.
  • Maintain test plans in a precise and methodical way and carefully record test results, logging any defects, usability problems, and performance issues, ensuring that those bugs and problems are remediated.
  • Perform automation and manual testing of custom, complex business applications including web, and custom software applications, websites and partner integrations for functionality, usability, performance, and browser compatibility.
  • Identify and analyze software defects, and file clear and thorough bug reports. Verify resolved defects & update test-plan based on defect analysis.
  • Work in an AGILE software development life cycle environment. Take ownership for quality in the software development process and act as an advocate for end users and prospective customers.
  • Communicate quality metrics and test coverage throughout the SDLC for sprints, features and Projects. Understand the relationship between the overall QA Test Strategy and the risks associated with reduced coverage or compacted QA timelines.

Minimum Experience: 3-7 years experience in QA Tester/Engineer role (7+ years is preferred). Proven knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools and processes. Advanced knowledge and implementation of automated testing frameworks. Experienced with cross-browser and security testing.

5 years experience testing enterprise level software preferably user-facing eCommerce solutions including manual testing. Experience writing clear, concise and comprehensive test plans and test cases. Experience with black box and white box testing. Strong knowledge of SQL and scripting.
