SUMMARY

Role consists of executing necessary Cloud Services in support of PetSmart Cloud Platform team as well as Development Organizations.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Minimum 5 Years of relatable cloud experience
  • Minimum 3 Years of Kubernetes administration experience
  • Direct on the job experience with Google Cloud Product (Google Cloud Platform)
  • Understanding of Product and Platform teams and Agile project lifecycle

PREREQUISITE COMMUNICATIONS AND INTERPERSONAL SKILLS
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate with internal customers across multiple PetSmart teams (IT and Business)
  • Learning agility and adoption of new technology and platform related services

PREREQUISITE TECHNICAL SKILLS
  • Experience with 1 or more CI/CD frameworks (Jenkins preferred)
  • Experience with Kubernetes tools (kubectl, kustomize, helm)
  • Experience with service mesh technology (istio preferred)
  • Proficient in one or more scripting languages (bash, powershell, python) and version control tools (github)
  • Proficient in supporting, troubleshooting and operating Kubernetes clusters (CKA or other certifications preferred)
  • Proficient in writing Terraform modules
  • Proficient with yaml, json, and other data serializations
  • Strong understanding of cloud fundamentals such as IAM, RBAC, SaaS, IaaS, PaaS
  • Strong understanding of network fundamentals, specifically cloud and associated resources (load balancers, shared VPCs, peering)

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Work within release and change management
  • Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
  • Document processes and related knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Experience with troubleshooting using traces, log correlation, metrics (SLA/SLO, monitoring, alerting, dashboarding) providing detailed post-mortems
  • Partner with development teams to improve services through rigorous testing and release procedures
  • Provide primary operational support and engineering for multiple, large, distributed software applications, participating in an on-call rotation
