Our IT team has 4 different departments: Information Security, IT Service Delivery, Business Enabling Systems, and IT Commerce & Customer Engagement. About the JobSolutions ArchitectHow this role will make an impact:PetSmart is accelerating its digital capabilities and we are looking for experienced leaders who can blend business acumen, technical problem solving and agile execution in eCommerce environment to drive us forward. As a Solutions Architect - Digital you are responsible for collaborating with the various PetSmart business areas to architect sustainable integration solutions to meet business needs and add significant business value. Provided solutions should be in alignment with our enterprise architecture direction and standards. This includes designing and developing technical specifications for high-level, low-level application and data integration solutions. Solutions Architects are expected to have a deep understanding of development patterns, styles, and integration strategies that enable solving business problems. Your goals and responsibilities will include:- You will be aligned to the Digital Commerce program to deliver solutions that improve the customer experience, extend omnichannel capabilities and create connected experiences for our customers.
- Drives the solutioning for large complex projects, collaborating with Enterprise and other Solutions Architects, and business area teams to build detailed technical design and specification documents, to meet business needs for large complex projects, considering capabilities, risks, system dependencies
- Directing the end-to-end solutioning and estimation lifecycle within our digital initiatives in alignment with our agile and scaled-agile delivery practices
- Provide points of view on approaches that enable us to deliver value quickly, test and learn, and ship incremental enhancements
- Facilitates large groups of diverse stakeholders to consensus on target solution
- Providing broad technical and functional knowledge of various key technology and business platforms, including Ecommerce, Content Management, Analytics, Custom Web/Mobile Development, Data, and Cloud
- Liaise with peers in Enterprise Architecture, Data Architecture, Operations and Security to ensure support, adherence to standards and consistency in solution designs
- Provide strategic leadership and creative thinking to help the technical delivery team through the project lifecycle
- Participate in the development of conceptual and logical architectures across other architecture domains. Resolve integration and interfacing issues between various back-end systems
- Make sure that provided solutions meet overall non-functional requirements (supportability, performance, security, availability, scalability, and such)
- Determine the appropriate pattern/style applicable for each integration, and corresponding non-functional requirements
- Build logical designs and physical high-level views for each logical service
- High-level code review in integration development to ensure the design and best practices have been followed
- Work on multiple concurrent projects, meet business expectations, influence outcomes and maintain stated timelines
- Mentor integration developers to grow skills in applying PetSmart's best practices and standards
- Work with engineering and DevOps teams to help define CI/CD pipelines and automation to streamline deployments minimizing the impact in ongoing operations
- Keep up to date on industry architectural standards and trends
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or other technical discipline
- Experience architecting complex, multi-system solutions
- Experience using tools in the PetSmart Platform: .NET Core / Cloud services (Google Cloud Platform, Azure, or AWS) / Tibco BW / Mulesoft / Informatica
- Deep knowledge and experience in API / Micro-services, Agile / Dev-Ops, CI / CD
- Deep knowledge and experience in operational database (RDBMS, No-SQL, Document DB, In-memory DB) and messaging technologies (RabbitMQ, Kafka, Pub/Sub, JMS)
- API management configuration and best practices
- Non-functional requirements gathering and solutioning experience
- Ability to develop successful relationships with external and internal partners
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated problem solving, multi-tasking, troubleshooting skills with a high degree of flexibility
- Experience in Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) / Waterfall and Agile development
- Analytical skills with the ability to understand key business processes and related issues
- Self-leadership and ability to work independently and manage conflict
- Relevant experience in leading eCommerce systems (Salesforce Commerce Cloud/Demandware, Magento, Hybris, ATG/Oracle, commercetools, etc.)
- Advanced knowledge of eCommerce strategies and commerce operations management
- Advanced knowledge of Omnichannel Order Management Systems. And working knowledge of analytics platform
- Demonstrating extensive experience with integrating the eCommerce engine with other technology products (e.g. payment gateway, CMS, CRM, PIM, DAM) and other backend solutions (e.g. ERP)
- Retail domain experience
- Experience with Headless commerce rollouts
