Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

The Art Director would work for Goldmind, Synchrony’s in-house agency, in conjunction with the creative directors and a talented team of copywriters, art directors, videographers, editors, animators, proofreaders and account managers to create strategic visual solutions that inspire, inform and/or captivate consumers across digital, print, social, video, environmental and emerging channels. The ideal candidate has an eye for design, a passion for customer experience, strong storytelling skills and an insatiable interest in digital innovation and technology.

This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. Essential Responsibilities:

  • Create design deliverables for a variety of projects across digital, print, social, video, environmental and emerging channels

  • Attend kick-offs on all new projects

  • Follow a creative brief and detailed project requirements

  • Develop concepts and designs while keeping in mind the strategic business goals of the project

  • Design within the brand guidelines pertaining to each client

  • Prepare work for client presentations and present internally to team members and managers

  • Collaborate with other team members and Account Managers

  • Communicate and follow up with the assigned Copywriter, Sr. Art Director, ACD, Account Manager and Traffic Manager on each project

  • Follow process and procedure from traffic to proofreading

  • Multitask, prioritize, problem solve and work independently

  • Work on multiple projects with constantly changing deadlines and often at a high rate of speed

  • Communicate challenges to peers and managers—and help solve them

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree OR in lieu of a degree, a high school diploma/GED and 5 years of work experience in visual design

  • 3+ years of professional experience working with an advertising agency, design firm and/or in-house creative team

  • Experience in print and digital production and the ability to build files for final release to vendors

  • Proficient in Adobe CC (XD, Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign)

  • Knowledge in Sketch or Figma, InVision a plus

  • Proficient in PowerPoint (building presentations and animations)

  • Skilled in MS Office applications (primarily, Word, Excel)

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months’ time in position before they can post. All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).

The salary range for this position is 56,000.00 - 112,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
