Responsibilities

Property & Casualty Aspirational State (PCAS) is focused on delivering innovative P&C business solutions through advanced technology, big data platforms, and simplified business processes to enhance business insights and operational efficiency. Our goal is to bring operational and analytical worlds closer together leveraging our scale to drive increased insight, agility, and confidence in business decisions. PCAS is looking for energetic and experienced software developers to join one the following agile teams (based on candidate's skills and interests):

PCAS Rating & Score Orchestration and Data Access Services (aka New Hope & Stark)
  • These teams gather data, invoke the rating process, and store results.
  • Primary Languages and Technologies: Clojure, Java, Spring Boot, PostgreSQL, Swagger/OAS, gRPC, Protobufs, REST, OLTP, AWS Cloud Solutions, Kubernetes Containers, Relational Database, and AWS S3.

PCAS Rate Model Execution(aka Ragnarok)
  • This team collaborates with embedded Property & Casualty Actuarial & Underwriting Modeling Business Partners to enable execution of business models. The team works directly with the framework needed to enable model development as well as execution of models in production.
  • Primary Languages and Technologies: Clojure, Python, gRPC, Protobufs, Kubernetes, and AWS S3

Qualifications

State Farm P&C Auto / Fire team is looking to hire Software Developers with DevOps focus as part of the modernization journey. These positions span a broad set of technical skills; we expect very few individuals to have experience with all of the technical skills desired. Candidates with software development experience along with a willingness to learn while working in a fast-paced challenging environment are encouraged to apply.
