A major company in the hospitality sector is hiring for an intermediate (2 years of experience or more) Software Engineer to join their Phoenix team full time. As a part of this team, you will be responsible for designing, writing, and maintaining software in efforts to improve the availability, scalability, and efficiency of applications/services. You will have the opportunity to engage in service capacity planning and demand forecasting, participate in software performance analysis and system tuning, and provide technical advice and weigh in on decisions that impact the company at large. In addition, you will serve as a supervisor before, during, and after the systems production rollout. - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field, or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2+ years of professional experience in software development
- Intermediate experience and/or knowledge in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle
- Intermediate experience and/or knowledge of Agile, Service Oriented Architecture and Object-Oriented Programming methodologies
- Intermediate experience and/or knowledge in coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations.
- Java with Spring or similar MVC framework
- Unix/Lunix
- Service-oriented designs and technologies (AJAX, XML/JSON)
- SQL
- Web service protocols (SOAP or REST)
- Database experience (Oracle, MySQL, Informix, etc.)
- Software development tool kits (Subversion and/or GIT)
- Experience working on Kafka
- Cloud experience on AWS
- Familiarity with continuous integration tools (Jenkins, Sonar, etc.)
