Job Summary
The Point of Care Coordinator supports the vision of the Total Healing Environment and the values of respect, integrity, accountability, commitment and quality by the development and implementation of laboratory practices and procedures in accordance with YRMC's Mission, Clinical Laboratory policies and procedures and regulatory agency requirements. Manages and coordinates the Point of Care program, including implementation, education and quality management of testing procedures, ensuring compliance in all regards. Provides leadership and works collaboratively with staff to address procedural, technical and customer service issues. Job Qualifications Required Qualifications:- High school graduate or GED
- Medical Laboratory Technician with two years of experience in clinical laboratory OR five years of experience in clinical laboratory
- Strong understanding and knowledge of CAP and CLIA guidelines and regulations
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing providing excellent customer service
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and handle multiple priorities/tasks simultaneously in a fast paced environment
- Basic computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Windows
- Basic proficiency with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology
- Medical Technologist with two years of experience in clinical laboratory
- Certified as an MT, MLT or CLS by the American Society of Clinical Pathology or American Medical Technologists
- Point-of-Care testing experience
- Teaching or training experience
- Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and LIS experience preferred; Cerner strongly preferred
