An industry leader in providing car insurance and warranty is looking to hire an Application Security Engineer to join their team in Scottsdale, AZ. Your main role is to ensure their applications and services are implemented with best security practices to avoid attacks. You will have the opportunity to set security controls and design requirements to protect applications from security attacks. The ideal candidate comes from a Java development background and has previous experience developing backend REST or SOAP services. Security clearances are a plus! Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years of experience in Java Development
- Experience in REST or SOAP webservices
- Understanding of encryption and decryption methods, authentication, and common attacks
- Knowledge of information security principles and best practices
- Bachelor's Degree in computer Science, or related field
- Experience and/or knowledge in cloud infrastructure software
- Dynamic scanning tools (Burp suite enterprise)
- Knowledge of network, routing, and web related protocols
- Design, write, and maintain software to improve security, availability, confidentiality, and efficiency of applications
- Uncover vulnerabilities and create solutions before hackers infiltrate
- Contribute to building CI/CD pipelines incorporating security scans
- Develop & maintain up to date documentation for all security requirements/procedures and tools
- Work as a liaison between application and infrastructure teams
- Up to $120k base salary
