We are looking for an experienced Asset Management Technician who will focus on planning, obtaining, tracking, and disposing of physical (e.g., hardware) and software technology assets. This is a key member of Service Reliability Engineering team. Responsibilities:
  • Manage inventory and lifecycle of hardware and software assets (including dependencies), to ensure that modifications, withdrawals, and additions are correctly recorded by teams to ensure compliance with vendor contracts
  • Apply a continuous improvement approach in enhancing the strategies employed in technology spending, as well as in tracking company assets within the CMDB throughout their lifecycle
  • Provide scheduled key performance indicator (KPI)/metric information and standardized reporting, including compliance on current assets and trend analyses
  • Perform verification and audit of Definitive Media Library (DML) and CMDB content; verify software assets with license contracts, confirm hardware assets with actual inventory, and initiate corrective actions and track them
  • Manage activities concerning license compliance audits to be able to answer to requests from software editors effectively
  • Design processes relating to software and hardware asset management: execute and enhance them
  • Establish and maintain documentation of procedures, processes, and reports concerning asset and configuration management
  • Take part in other ITSM processes, or as required, perform as a back up to maintain operational activities
  • Collaborate with infrastructure teams to determine trends in asset performance and maintain best practices

Qualifications:
  • 5+ years' experience working in IT asset management
  • Experience working with a configuration management database (CMDB) and the specific business services that it supports
  • Proven ability and experience in executing strategic asset management processes successfully
  • Experience using ServiceNow platform as it relates to Asset Managment capabilities a plus
  • Experience with licensing agreements involving software, including Microsoft, IBM, and Oracle
  • Good understanding of ITIL
  • Strong knowledge of IT software and hardware
  • Strong knowledge of common IT asset management cost savings and risk mitigation strategies
  • One or more of the following certifications a plus: IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT), or IT Asset Management
