Job Description

Director, Technology, SVB Private Core Banking Systems

The Director of SVB Private Bank's Core Banking Systems will lead and manage the technology teams to build, integrate, and manage core banking platforms. You will serve as a leader in the PBWM Tech Division and work closely with the technology, product, and business leadership teams to drive the overall expansion, integration, and conversion of the platform. You will collaborate closely with teams across the organization to provide strategic direction and guidance to support the rapidly expanding Private Bank division. As an immediate responsibility, you would lead the conversion of SVB's current core banking platform from FIS Miser to the recently acquired Fiserv Signature platform.

We are looking for candidates who possess extensive experience in Core Banking applications in Fiserv Signature and a suite of applications with strong business, systems, and data management skills. A strong leader who can lead the team to deliver their assignments, and support our growing banking operations, as well support our expansion roadmap.

Core responsibilities include:
  • Lead a team of talented analysts, engineers, and testers
  • Effectively apply the prior experience while using knowledge of current applications, interfaces, and data structures to recommend solutions and provide input.
  • Collaborate with product teams to develop, deploy, and deliver applications and functionality as per the product roadmap and business needs
  • Ensure the technical architecture and design are aligned with SVB's enterprise architecture and security standards
  • Ensure security is integrated into all solutions
  • Facilitate and participate in design white-boarding sessions to ensure prioritized business needs are met within SVB standards.
  • Provide leadership and support for system production issues, change requests, and maintenance.
  • Develop and migrate mission critical services to public or private cloud and build automated testing, deployment, and release processes
  • Have full oversight into changes going into production, asset tagging, cost and capacity analysis, vulnerability, and patch management
  • Partner closely with vendors, and peer engineering leaders to ensure, we operate as a single team
  • Proven leadership with the ability to lead multiple teams in a fast-paced multi-disciplinary environment
  • A willingness to mentor people inside/outside of the Information Technology department on best practices, system design principles, and industry trends
  • Demonstrated ability to bring the benefits of technology to solve business issues while also managing costs and risk
  • Able to influence decisions at various levels of corporate management
  • Excellent written, and oral communication skills and strong negotiating skills
  • Able to collaborate with remote team members to quickly resolve business critical production incidents successfully
Key Qualifications -
  • At least 10+ years of experience with Core Banking platforms such as Fiserv Signature, and preferably experience working with the large financial institution
  • Experience with lending and deposit products, and command over the business language to effectively collaborate with the business teams
  • Ability to lead a team of analysts, engineers, and testers to deliver solutions
  • A seasoned and empathetic leader capable of managing high performance teams, flexibility in a dynamic working environment
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline recommended
  • Experience in cloud technologies such as AWS is a plus
